Snowfall became heavy, accumulating more than nine inches. Approximately 200 customers lost power due to the weight of the snow on the power lines causing them to bounce against another and short out circuit breakers.
Fire destroyed a hog pen and damaged a garage on the John Gates farm, New Enterprise RD, early Sunday. Two hogs and three young pigs were lost in the blaze. More than 1,000 bushels of corn stored overhead was destroyed.
