Northern Bedford battled in the first half but succumbed to homestanding Southern Fulton on Jan. 27, 51-20, in high school girls’ basketball action.
The Lady Panthers battled the Lady Indians and were down just 21-15 at halftime. However, the Lady Panther offense disappeared to the tune of just five second-half points.
“We were very competitive early and played really hard, but then we just couldn't buy a basket in the second half,” NB coach Jon Ewart said.
Ashley Kichman came off the bench to score eight points to pace NB.
Everett 63, NB 23
Northern Bedford, as has been the case so many times this year, was competitive most of the first half but then saw its offense tank en route to a 63-23 home loss to Everett on Jan. 29.
Down just 20-14 midway through the second period, NB went cold and Everett scored the final 16 points of the half to take a commanding 36-14 lead. The Lady Warriors cruised from that point forward en route to the victory.
“Once again we competed well and played hard for a period of time in the first half but couldn’t keep it together,” NB coach Jon Ewart said.
Makayla Kochara scored five points to pace the Lady Panthers.
