The Soap Box Laundromat in Martinsburg will soon be open for business once again, according to its owners.
"The machines are in but need to be set. There are also some punch-list items to be completed before we turn on that 'Open' sign," said Karen Bassler, who owns the laundromat with her husband Allan. "Everyone has been asking, so I figured it was time to share an update."
"Denny Breon, the owner of Schoolhouse Hollow Maintenance, LLC, and general contractor for the reconstruction, and his crew have been working hard to get us back in operation," Karen Bassler said. "They've been putting up with me for a few months now and are probably more than excited to finally have an end in sight."
"I think we may be looking at another week or so. I can't wait for that red 'Open' sign to be lit up again."
Allan Bassler thanked the local contractors for their "excellent work." They include Rabenstein HVAC of Williamsburg, JOBE Electric of Claysburg, Donald E. Weyandt (flooring) and Hite Electric, Martinsburg. The Basslers also thanked Martinsburg borough for its support.
The Soap Box Laundromat, located at 109 S. Market St., Martinsburg suffered damage due to a fire on Nov. 10, 2019.
