It was three up and three opponents down for the Central Lady Dragon hoopsters as they raised their record to 12-4 on the season.

CHS scored wins over Tussey Mountain, Bald Eagle Area and Bellefonte.

CHS 43, Tussey 41

On Jan. 20, the team traveled over the mountain to battle a tough Tussey Mountain squad and returned with a hard-fought 43-41 victory.

Kylie Metzger exploded for 25 points, including an impressive 13 of 14 at the foul line. Madison Eicher added eight points and Bailey Heuston five. The game was tied at 41 with 13 seconds remaining before Metzger converted a pair of free throws to seal the win.

The girls returned to Mountain League play (8-1) on Jan. 22, welcoming Bald Eagle Area (5-9 overall). Central erupted with a 21-2 first-quarter lead and led 35-10 at halftime. After expanding the advantage to 50-12 at the end of the third frame, the Dragons played their bench and were outscored 14-7 in the fourth to finish with a 57-26 victory.

Erin Brumbaugh paced the offense with 12 points, followed by Kylie Metzger (11) and Madison Eicher (10). Kathryn Longenecker had eight points and Bailey Heuston six.

CHS 39, Bellefonte 27

On Jan. 23 the Lady Dragons traveled to Bellefonte and returned with a 39-27 victory. Bellefonte was ahead 13-12 after one quarter before the Lady Dragons took a 22-18 advantage into the break. In a low-scoring second half, the Dragons prevailed 17-9.

Erin Brumbaugh again paced the Central offense with 13 points, while Kylie Metzger contributed 12. Bailey Heuston finished with seven rebounds and tallied three steals.

“It was a great week, winning three times in four days,” Lady Dragon coach Rob Mock said. “Tussey has an excellent team and it was a great game for us. We need this type of game with a playoff atmosphere. We played great against BEA, and the Bellefonte game was up in the air until the second half.”
