Roaring Spring

Daisy M. Pote, 92, of Roaring Spring, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, Jan. 27, 2020, at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring, following a brief illness.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, at the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., http://www.thompsonfh.com, Roaring Spring; .

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Pastor Charles Baughman will officiate.

Inurnment will be made in Holsinger Cemetery, Bakers Summit.

Daisy was born on Feb. 24, 1927, in Roaring Spring, the daughter of the late Ralph and Goldie (Ward) Delozier.

She married Jesse W. Pote Jr. on May 11, 1946, in Waterside. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1986.

Daisy is survived by four children: Joel L. Pote and wife Cheryl of Woodbury, Randall A. Pote and wife Lois of Roaring Spring, Ronald P. Pote and wife Renee of Charleston, S.C., and Jo Ann Price and husband James of Roaring Spring; 10 grandchildren: Jay Pote, Lyle Pote, Shawn Pote, Jessica Douglas, Ryan Pote, Kaitlyn Pote, Nicole (Brown) Frank, Jessa Price, Caleb Price and Dakota Price; several great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Marge Delozier of Roaring Spring.

She was preceded in death by a son, Wilfred D. Pote; and two brothers: Dean Delozier and Robert Delozier.

Daisy was a 1944 graduate of Roaring Spring High School .

She retired in 2005 as head cook for the Spring Cove School District after 34 years of service.

Daisy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Roaring Spring.

She enjoyed shopping and yard-saling.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Daisy’s memory may be given to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
