NBC Lady Panthers Fall to 3-11

The Northern Bedford girls’ basketball team was locked into a tight battle with visiting Fannett-Metal on Jan. 13 until a poor third quarter doomed their effort in a 53-31 loss

Down just 23-20 at the halftime break, the Lady Panthers found themselves in position to spring an upset.

“We were very competitive with them in the first half and then just let it get away from us,” NB coach Jon Ewart said.

A 19-7 third-quarter edge put the Lady Tigers up 42-27 after the period and “took the wind out of our sails,” according to Ewart.

NB could manage just 11 second-half points.
