Charles G. Mellott, 94, of Martinsburg, formerly of Waterside, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.
At request of the deceased, funeral services will be held privately.
Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.
Charles was born on Aug. 21, 1925, in Waterside, son of the late Daniel and Juda (Henry) Mellott.
Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Lula (Keagy) Mellott; son Jerry Mellott (Nancy) of Woodbury; daughter Deborah Moyer of Martinsburg; son Roger Mellott (Beth) of Woodbury; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Clifford Moyer II; brothers Albert, James, John and Robert; and sisters Alice, Katherine, Mae and Ruth.
Charles served his country during World War II in the United States Navy.
He was employed for 30-plus years as a plumber for A. Lloyd Steele.
Charles was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed playing bingo and 500 Rummy, and was a member of the Waterside Church of the Brethren.
