NB FFA to March in Parade

The Northern Bedford Chapter of Future Farmers of America was invited to march in style Tuesday afternoon, Jan 17, in the Governor’s Inaugural Parade at Harrisburg, after Governor-Elect Tom Ridge would take office. Approximately 30 chapter members would participate in the division “Marching into the Future,” a division devoted predominately to youth.

Carol Noel was given the oath of office to become a new member of Roaring Spring Borough Council at the start of the Jan. 9 meeting.

Lester Steele of Loysburg received a community service award from Modern Woodmen of America Camp 6607, New Enterprise.

The Harold Bailey family of Roaring Spring RD was honored at the Pennsylvania Future Farmers of America’s annual convention with an Honorary Keystone Degree. The degree is awarded to families who have three or more children who are recipients of the FFA’s Keystone Degree.

The Roaring Spring Ambulance Service responded to 1,300 calls during 1994.
