Wildlife in Need of Food

That much of the game on the mountains surrounding the Cove and in the Barrens section is suffering from lack of food, if not actually perishing, is the word that is brought back by men who during the past week or two have visited the habitat of wild life. The ground has now been covered with deep snow for five weeks, and animals and birds that should have access to the ground for much of their food are having a hard time of it.
