ANETA ANN CLAIRE

Aneta Ann Claire, 82, of Martinsburg, passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 1, 2020, at Homewood at Martinsburg.

A funeral was held Saturday, Jan. 4, at Bice Memorial Chapel at Homewood at Martinsburg. Pastor Tim Guyer officiated.

Private interment was held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

She was born March 3, 1937, in North Woodbury Township, rural Martinsburg, daughter of the late Emmert W. and Ethel Grace (Rhodes) Smith.

She married Frank P. Claire March 1, 1958, in Martinsburg. He preceded her in death April 30, 2011.

Surviving are a son, F. Duane (Karen) Claire; a grandson, Ryan D. (Joanne) Claire; two great-grandchildren: Colton D. and Lillyava M. Claire, all of rural Roaring Spring; and a sister-in-law, Linda L. Smith of Martinsburg.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Cameron P .; and a brother, Ronald R. Smith.

Aneta Ann was a 1956 graduate of Morrison Cove High School, Martinsburg, and a member of Martinsburg Brethren in Christ Church.

She was employed as a clerk at Reese Drug Store, Martinsburg, and Hillcrest Pharmacy in Roaring Spring.

Aneta Ann loved spending time with her family, singing and playing the piano and also enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking.
