Susan Carol Deters, 73, of Williamsburg, passed away Friday evening, Dec. 27, 2019, at UPMC Altoona.
A funeral was held Monday, Dec. 30, 2019, at the John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., http://www.bolgerfuneralhome.com, Williamsburg. Pastor Tiffany E. Marvich officiated.
Private interment was held at Carson Valley Cemetery, rural Duncansville.
Sue was born Nov. 16, 1946, in Altoona, daughter of the late Samuel C. and Bernadette S. (Henry) Knee.
She married C. Daniel Deters Nov. 18, 1967, at South Altoona Baptist Church (now Faith Baptist Church). He preceded her in death Jan. 6, 2017.
Surviving are three sons: William S. “Bill” and Casey D. (Kara), both of Williamsburg, and Troy M. (Wendy) of Hinesville, Ga .; a daughter, Wendy A. (Dave) Rettburg of Altoona; seven grandchildren: Mallory, Emily, Anthony (Katie), Miranda, Caitlin, Sean and Kira; two great-grandchildren: Noah and Olivia; and two sisters: Beverly (Jim) Runyen of Exton and Mimi Rodgers of York.
She was preceded in death by a brother, David Knee; and a sister, Gloria Bronson.
Sue was a 1964 graduate of Altoona High School.
She was a member of Cove Forge United Methodist Church, rural Williamsburg, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir director and also played the organ and piano.
She was primarily a homemaker, who loved spending time with her family, sewing, reading and playing bingo. Sue also enjoyed coordinating fund raisers for the Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Company and Ambulance Club.
Memorial contributions in memory of Sue can be given to Williamsburg Veterans Memorial Center (Kitchen Project), 305 E. Second St., Apt. 2, Williamsburg, PA 16693.
