New Enterprise

Penny J. Dively, 60, of New Enterprise, passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019, at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral Saturday, Jan. 4, at New Enterprise Church of the Brethren. Pastor Paul Snyder will officiate.

Interment will be in Holsinger Cemetery.

Penny was born June 3, 1959, in Everett, daughter of the late Emory “Pete” Howsare and Joyce (Grimes) Tenley.

She was united in marriage to Blair Dively Oct. 8, 1977, at the Snake Spring Valley Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are her husband, Blair; daughter Brenda DeHaas of Martinsburg, W.Va .; daughter Latisha Helsel (Kevin Johnson) of New Enterprise; daughter April Margraff (Robert) of Hopewell; daughter Carrie Dively (Dave Donaldson) of Loysburg; son Blair Dively Jr. (Jamie) of New Enterprise; brothers Ricky Bussard, John Tenley, Mike Tenley, Brian Tenley, Tom Tenley and Emory “Frog” Howsare; sisters Valarie Smith, Teresa Hasting, Sabrena Musselman, Joyell Gutshall, Tina Bollman, Myra Hinson and Karen Losch; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as many close friends.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Emory and Joyce, as well as grandparents John and Ethel Grimes of Snake Spring.

Penny was a graduate of Northern Bedford High School and an active member of the Holsinger Church of the Brethren and the Woodbury Food Pantry.

She was actively involved in the Southern Cove EMS and the Southern Cove Fire Company Women’s Auxiliary. Penny was a volunteer medic for both the Creation and UpRise music events.

She enjoyed camping, going for drives to Lancaster/Amish Country, and eating with her friends in the “Breakfast Club.”

If so desired, Memorial Contributions in Penny’s name can be made to the Weaver Funeral Home to help the family with final expenses.
