Law Expands Charities' Fundraising Options

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf signed into law on Dec. 27 a bill containing two legislative initiatives sponsored by state Sen. Judy Ward (R-Hollidaysburg) aimed at enhancing fundraising opportunities for local organizations whose missions are to help individuals with cancer and disabilities and their families.

Presently, many non-profits and community-based organizations qualify to make application with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) for a wine and spirits auction permit or a special occasion permit for special events as a means to raise funds for their operations.
