White Christmas Allays Fears

Snow and sleet began to fall before daybreak on Christmas and continued into the day, allaying the fears of those who believe the old saying that “A green Christmas makes a full graveyard.” The first major snow of the winter came the day after Christmas. Beginning in the afternoon, it continued through the night and reached a depth of 15 inches by the next morning.

Electric lights were being installed in Williamsburg.

The Bedford County Commissioners decided to build a new jail.

Thirty-five turkeys were stolen from the Blair County Almshouse.
