Woodbury Township (Blair) residents will now be paying their local services tax (LST) to the Blair County Tax Collection Bureau rather than at the township office.
Solicitor Dave Pertile said during last Thursday evening’s meeting, Dec. 12, that the tax bureau is in agreement with the township to become the LST tax collector. It will charge 2.5 percent of the tax collected to township.
Supervisor Craig Hamilton made a motion to allow the bureau to become the 2020 LST tax collector. Supervisor Ed Clark seconded and the motion passed.
Cove Forge Representative Andrew Helmer said there was a meeting between Cove Forge, township engineering firm Stiffler McGraw and Cove Forge’s engineering firm Gwin, Dobson, and Foreman to discuss plans for the proposed land development at Cove Forge. Helmer asked for an extension on those plans to the February 2020 meeting. Supervisor Clark made a motion to approve the request with Craig Hamilton seconding and the motion passed.
Sitffler McGraw engineer Jim Young presented the Williamsburg CMA Church’s final plans, remarking they needed a waiver. He then asked for final approval. Supervisor Clark made a motion to grant the waiver and to grant final approval to the project. Supervisor Hamilton seconded and the motion passed.
Chairman Joe Lansberry presented supervisors with an agreement regarding the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program to apply for grant money for Ridge Road residents who will be getting municipal water to their homes. Supervisor Clark made a motion to execute the CDBG agreement. Supervisor Hamilton seconded and the motion passed.
The 2020 budget which was advertised last month was adopted on a motion from Supervisor Hamilton and a second from Supervisor Clark.
The reorganizational meeting for Woodbury Township will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6.
There was a closed-door session following the regular meeting to discuss possible litigation.
