Putting cows on the front page since 1885.
On Saturday, Dec. 7, children were found whispering, laughing and, yes, even crying at Long's Outpost in Martinsburg and New Paris.
Excitement was in the air with the presence of Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.
The Clauses welcomed children with open arms. Santa Claus talked with each child – he discussed if they had been doing their chores but also if they knew why we celebrated Christmas. Most children were able to communicate very well, and they also told Santa Jesus was born on this day and it was about family.
Parents enjoyed being permitted to take free pictures with their cameras.
Children were given a box of candy, a popcorn ball, Richey's Dairy milk and cookies as they visited. Some adults loved the experience of having their picture taken with Santa as well.
