Hetrick Board President

Herald of Dec. 18, 1969

Paul Hetrick of East Freedom was elected president of the Spring Cove School Board for 1970 at a meeting of the board Monday night. Mr. Hetrick succeeds J. Calvin Lang III of Roaring Spring, who was elected vice president. Mr. Lang had served two years as president of the board. The reorganization of the board followed the seating of the three new directors elected last month to six-year terms, and a fourth who was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Melvin McDowel, who resigned.

“The football team had a perfect season, and we would like a perfect season too.”

This was the comment of the Martinsburg Community Fund chairman as he reported this week that the lagging campaign is still nearly $1,300 short of its $10,000 goal. John H. Waite, the chairman, said he and the other campaign leaders would hold out one more week before calling it quits, “to see if the Christmas spirit moves anybody.”

The chairman compared this campaign with the Central High School football campaign last fall.
