Lillian A. Hougaard, 96, a resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Seminole, Fla., passed away Monday evening, Dec. 2, 2019, at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, Dec. 7, at Bice Memorial Chapel at Homewood at Martinsburg. Pastor James Neatrour will officiate.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at Bay Pines National Cemetery, St. Petersburg, Fla.
Lillian was born Oct. 11, 1923, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late John R. and Ella T. (Hansen) Rasmussen.
She was married to the late Martin Victor Hougaard.
Surviving are a daughter, June H. (William) Kirsch of Roaring Spring; a son, John M. (Bonnie) Hougaard of Palmer, Mass .; seven grandchildren: Jason (Haley) Hougaard, Christopher (Kristine) Hougaard, Warren (Jessica) Kirsch, Emily (Thomas) Pepka, Nicholas (Christina) Kirsch, Jonathan (Rachelle) Kirsch and Haldan Kirsch; and four great-grandchildren: Amelia, Jackson, Benjamin and Eloise Pepka.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Warren A., and was the last surviving member of her immediate family of six children.
Lillian was a 1942 graduate of Bay Ridge High School, Brooklyn, and worked in the accounting departments of A&S Department Store, Brooklyn, and the Bayfront Center in St. Petersburg.
She was an active member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Largo, Fla., where she served in many capacities and a member of the Danish Sisterhood of America. Lillian loved spending time with her family, her church family and also enjoyed dinners out with friends.
