Frantic Phone Call Leads to Search; Roaring Spring Man Taken Into Custody

A Roaring Spring man has been apprehended in Indiana County in connection with a missing, endangered persons investigation of his daughter-in-law and her two children.

Edgar Lee Decker Jr., 56, was taken into custody at approximately 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, after his car was pulled over on State Route 422 in Armstrong Township, Indiana County.

The ordeal began when Decker's daughter-in law, 31-year-old Alicia R. Brumbaugh of Imler, made a "frantic" phone call to the Indiana County 911 center at approximately 11:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12.

Brumbaugh and her two children, Aleah, age 2 and Maverick, age 1, were last seen at approximately 4 a.m. in Imler.

Police said the 911 call came from the parking lot of the Indiana Walmart, but that the call was terminated before further details could be obtained.

Police said Decker, who was recently released from a rehabilitation facility, has an active felony warrant out of Blair County.

Police said Decker was travelling in a black 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche, and a check of Walmart's surveillance video showed a car fitting that description leaving the parking lot around the time the 911 call was made.

Police said they received a call a little before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday from a driver who spotted the vehicle on State Route 422 and Oakland Ave.

Troopers stopped the vehicle and found Decker, Brumbaugh and the two children inside.

Decker was taken into custody on a felony warrant for retail theft. Police said Brumbaugh and her two children were not injured.
