DIANE NELSON

FOR BEDFORD COUNTY SHERIFF

To the Editor:

My name is Erik Whisker and I am a former Republican candidate for Bedford County Sheriff. For several years I worked to prepare for the 2019 Bedford County election to meet people, re-establish old connections; and promote a positive and empowering message of my mission for the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office.

At this time, I would like to introduce you to Diane Nelson, who currently serves as the chief deputy sheriff for the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office. Diane is a dedicated registered Republican voter however in the spring primary election she received the highest Democratic Write-In vote. You will see her name listed as a Democrat on the Nov. 5 ballot, but please do not let that sway your vote!

Diane Nelson is the only candidate with 21 years of experience serving the sheriff’s office and working to serve and protect the people of Bedford County. Diane has obtained a plethora of experience as both a corrections officer, police officer, deputy sheriff, and chief deputy – management and labor relations – all leading to her candidacy for Bedford County Sheriff.

I have spoken to Diane Nelson multiple times since May 21 and we conferred about law enforcement and the criminal justice system. In particular, Diane has a strict vision to work to dismantle, interrupt, and deter criminal activity with illegal drug sales and distribution in our communities in Bedford County. All together, Diane Nelson has been committed to serving the Bedford County District Attorney’s Office as a county detective to work “street smart” and make arrests bringing dealers to justice. Inasmuch, her role as chief deputy sheriff is to help ensure efficient administration-of-justice.

Please know your sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer of the county; thus, provided authority no other law enforcement agency can declare (i.e. posse comitatus, license to conceal firearm; sovereign citizens, and also serve as prison warden).

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, I say “VOTE” experience; “VOTE” results; and “VOTE” professionalism! Vote Diane Nelson for Bedford County Sheriff.

Erik Whisker, B.S.

BRUCE ERB FOR

BLAIR COUNTY

COMMISSIONER

To the Editor:

I am writing to support Bruce Erb for Blair County Commissioner. I have known Bruce both personally and professionally for more than 30 years. Bruce's background as a professional banker gives him the financial acumen necessary to deal with the fiscal issues facing Blair County and his record over the last four years clearly demonstrates an ability to address those issues head on.

Bruce is a family man who has always been actively involved in our community and although there are numerous qualifications that I could list as to why he should be reelected Blair County Commissioner, I believe that the most important factors are his integrity and moral character which are beyond reproach and to which I can personally attest.

On Election Day I encourage everyone to get out and exercise their right to vote and, more importantly, I urge each and every one of you to cast a ballot in favor of the reelection of Bruce Erb for Blair County Commissioner.
