Northern Bedford
The Northern Bedford cross-country teams scored victories over visiting Moshannon Valley oct. 1.
The Lady Panthers took the first four spots en route to a 20-35 win. Emilee Sherlock led the way with a first-place finish in 23 minutes, 36 seconds. Harley Socie was second in 24:41, followed by Denae Hershberger (25:52) and Hailey Bollman (29:01).
The Panthers won the boys’ meet, 15-50. They took the first seven spots and eight of the top 10 overall.
NB’s Ian Zimmerman won the meet in 16:06, followed by Ian Sherlock in second in 18:17. Third through seventh place were Josh Strayer (18:20), Hunter Horton (18:39), Connor Laird (19:09), Kaidin O’Neal (19:36) and Justin Grine (20:14). Nick Strayer finished ninth in 21:30.
At Northern Bedford Oct. 8, the Panthers picked up wins over Bellwood-Antis (20-41), Williamsburg (15-50) and West Branch (15-50) in the boys’ race.
Ian Zimmerman paced NB with a first-place finish in 15:17.4. Ian Sherlock placed second in 16:41. Also placing in the top 10 for the Black Panthers were Connor Laird (fourth, 17:20), Josh Strayer (sixth, 17:45), Hunter Horton (seventh, 18:23), Kaidin O’Neal (eighth, 18:30) and Justin Grine (ninth, 18:54).
In the girls’ race, NB defeated Southern Fulton (18-37), Williamsburg (20-35) and West Branch (17-38).
NB’s Emilee Sherlock took the top spot with a time of 22:17. Harley Socie took third place with a time of 22:24. Williamsburg’s Kelcie Butler, was fourth in 22:35, followed by NB’s Denae Hershberger (fifth, 22:33) and Williamsburg’s Aliyah Ross (sixth, 23:55). NB’s Hailey Bollman finished eighth in 24:24.
Central
The Central Dragon cross country teams traveled to Hollidaysburg Oct. 10 to battle the Tigers and Moshannon Valley. Hollidaysburg took the top seven spots on the boys’ side and the top three on the girls’ side to dominate the event.
In boys’ action, Luke Knisely ran a 20:10 which was good enough for ninth place overall. Teammate Kocher was right behind in 10th with a time of 20:22.
In girls’ action, Maia Jeffries was fourth in 24:41. Lauren Crilly was also in the top 10, finishing seventh in 25:10.
The Dragon boys are now 4-9 while the girls are 2-9.
Williamsburg
The Williamsburg cross-country teams were swept by host Juniata Valley Oct. 1.
The JV girls won, 16-47, while the boys scored a 12-24 win.
Kelsie Butler finished in fifth place with a time of 27 minutes, 49 seconds. Levi Hoover took third place in the boy’s meet with a time of 23:59. Teammates Garrett Nicewonger was sixth in 27:10 and Cyrus Simmons followed in seventh place (36:45).
