Desperate to 'IMPEACH 45!'

"Most time[s] a man will tell you his bad intentions if you listen, let yourself hear."

– Charles T. Postelwaite (Kevin Costner), Open Range

Within seconds of Comrade Speaker Nancy Pelosi announcing that she was beginning an impeachment inquiry, the sapiww Twitter account tweeted a thank-you to her for handing, on a silver platter, the 2020 election to Trump. Nothing, but nothing, will keep Trump supporters fired up more.

But let's be real. The "impeachment inquiry" truly began on Nov. 9, 2016, the day after Donald J. Trump was elected the 45th president of the United States.

Who can forget the shrill cries of "IMPEACH 45" from Comrade Rep. Maxine "Aunt Esther" Waters?

Democrats began to immediately promise to impeach him and they came up with the lie of "Russian collusion." They promised their loyal dupes that when the facts came out, they would show that Trump conspired with Putin to beat Comrade Hillary and then, THEN, they would impeach him.

Comrade Rep. Adam Schiff repeatedly promised that he was in possession of the proverbial smoking gun and that he would, very soon, release hard proof of Trump's "collusion" with Russia. But he never did because there was none.

After years of Democrats and their news media sock puppets telling us that Trump is a Russian operative, it was finally revealed that even the team of partisan Democrats that investigated Trump for more than two years could not produce a single shred of evidence that he, or any member of his team, conspired with any foreign entity.

So there would be no impeachment on "collusion."

The Mueller Report

But wait, the Mueller report hinted ... suggested, maybe, possibly, almost if you stretched things a bit, that some of the things that Trump did, said or tweeted during the two-plus year witch hunt could amount to obstruction of justice. Ah ha! Now they have him!

So they subpoenaed Mueller to testify before Congress, where they were sure they could get him to say that what he was saying in his report, without really saying it, was that the president committed obstruction of justice.

Except he didn't; he wouldn't. But that didn't prevent Comrade Rep. Jerry Nadler from going on TV and lying through his teeth to the American people about it.

In between all of these "bombshells" that turned out to be duds, we were also told that Trump was going down for paying Stormy Daniels hush money; that Michael Flynn, George Papadopoulos, Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen were all making deals to testify against Trump; that the investigations in the Southern District of New York were going to result in indictments against Trump and/or his associates.

But alas, none of those dreams came true either and impeachment on obstruction of justice also turned out to be just another wish upon a star. So, the three-year rolling impeachment inquiry had to go in search of yet another reason, manufactured or otherwise, to "IMPEACH 45!"

Enter an anonymous "whistleblower" with third-hand information about a phone call that Trump had with the Ukrainian president where Trump supposedly proposed a quid-pro-quo deal.

I'm sure that Democrats thought that Trump would deny it. They would then demand he release the transcript of the phone call and they expected that he would do what most Republicans would do and refuse to release a transcript of a call with a foreign leader. That would allow the Democrats, and their kindred in the news media, to suggest some sort of coverup.

But Trump is unlike any other "Republican" they are used to dealing with (which is why they, along with establishment Republicans, hate him so much). Rather than claim executive privilege and refuse to release the call, thereby giving Democrats a coverup or conspiracy drum to beat, he did what they least expected him to do. He released the transcript.

Once again, the sails of impeachment have been denied their wind.

Make no mistake, from the start this has been a political hack job in search of a constitutional reason for impeachment and they keep striking out.

The very people who tell us that Trump is a liar are the same people who have been repeatedly proven liars.

Democrats have placed all their political eggs into this impeachment basket because it's really all they have. They surely can't run on improving the economy (have you ever seen so many "Help Wanted and "Now Hiring" signs?).

Comrade Rep. Al Greene (D-Texas), who had Articles of Impeachment drawn up in 2017, said, "I'm concerned that if we don't impeach this president, he will get re-elected. If we don't impeach him, he will say he's been vindicated. He will say the Democrats had an overwhelming majority in the House and didn't take up impeachment. He will say we have a constitutional duty to do it if it was there and we didn't. He will say he's been vindicated."

So that's it in a nutshell. From the start they've been promising to "IMPEACH 45" and if they don't deliver, they fear that they will hand Trump the political victory of claiming vindication. So, they must impeach at any cost, even if they have to fabricate a high crime or misdemeanor to do it.
