STANLEY E. LEHMAN

Stanley E. Lehman, 69, of Altoona, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, at UPMC Altoona, following a lengthy illness.

At Stanley's request, a private graveside service with military honors will be held at the convenience of the family.

Stanley was born Jan. 5, 1950, in Roaring Spring, son of the late John William and Lois (Hinton) Lehman and was raised in Martinsburg by the late Bill and Emma Jane Hinton.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Shawn P. and Melissa Lehman of Shippensburg; a daughter, Tracy S. Lehman of Jacksonville, Fla .; two grandchildren: Noah Hartman and Ciara Lehman; a sister, Rita (James) Novak of Windber; two special cousins, with whom he was raised: Bill Hinton (Marcia) of Hollidaysburg and Sandi Hinton (Jan Dunlap) of Carolina Beach, N.C .; and dear friend, Patti Jo Miller and daughter, Brandi Moore of Altoona.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Longenecker; and a brother, William Lynn Lehman.

Stanley was a 1967 graduate of Scotland School for Veteran's Children.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1967 to 1970, attaining the rank of Specialist 4th Class.

He retired from Ward Trucking, Milton terminal, after 28 years of service, where he served in various capacities. Stanley also was employed for Old Dominion Freight Line, Duncansville, for 13 years, and worked as a dispatcher and terminal manager for American Freightways, Pittsburgh, for four years.

Stanley was a member of the VFW Juniata Post 8685, and the American Legion Post 0268, Muncy. He enjoyed playing softball, baseball, golfing and bowling.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Stanley may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1004 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
