Biddles Host Chamber

J. Edward and LaDonna Biddle welcomed some city visitors to the log cabin on their Cross Country Farm near Williamsburg during a “Business After Hours/Down on the Farm” visit by the Altoona-Blair County Chamber Oct. 6. About 75 business members and their families attended, along with a number of Martinsburg Booster Association members and friends and relatives of the Biddles.
The Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs outlasted a determined West Branch team, 19-12. The win ran C-K’s season mark to 6-0, making the Bulldogs one of the very few unbeaten teams in the area.
Jeanne Bolger of Martinsburg was elected to the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Council of Republican Women at the council’s convention at Harrisburg.
St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Martinsburg, founded in 1832, will celebrate the centennial of the cornerstone laying of the current worship center, which was in June 1894, at a homecoming service Sunday, Oct. 16.
