Elementary Auctions Set
Herald of Oct. 1 2009
The Spring Cove School District is cleaning house. With the elementary students from the Roaring Spring and Freedom Township areas settled into the new Spring Cove Elementary School, the school district has planned auctions at the two closed schools.
The district is preparing to sell the properties at the now closed East Freedom Elementary School and the Roaring Spring Elementary School.
The principal of the new elementary school reported at the school board’s September meetings that the opening of the new school was very successful. Betsy A. Baker said the transportation got off to a slow start as the school wanted to proceed with caution the first few days. The district thanked the security personnel and families for their patience and cooperation.
The construction of the three ball fields near the new school is progressing. The district anticipates construction completion for the end of October.
The PTO at the new school has started fundraising for elementary playground equipment.
