A Resolution Of Thanks
Herald of Sept, 12, 1919
A committee appointed on a resolution of thanks for Victory Picnic submits the following:
Several weeks prior to August 28, 2019, it was decided to hold a gathering or picnic, the proceeds of which was to be devoted to the establishing of a Memorial as a tribute to the honor of our boys and girls who so nobly and freely offered their lives and services in the great World’s War for right, justice, freedom and peace to all, from the ruthless hand of the monster Hun.
It was decided to issue an appeal to the citizens of the entire Morrison Cove to participate in this great event. Word was sent forth and a hearty and willing response was given. A meeting was held in Eagle Hall, Martinsburg, when a permanent organization was formed, and committees were appointed in every town and township throughout the Cove. All got to work to solicit and help to their utmost to make it a success, which they certainly did.
People from all parts of the Cove and county met to renew acquaintances and make new ones.
