Freedom Twp. Couple Facing Tampering Charges

A Freedom Township couple is facing charges of evidence tampering in connection with the death of a 1-month-old boy in early June.

Donald E. McChessney, 37, and Cara J. McChessney, 33, are accused of hiding evidence and cleaning a camper where the boy was found unresponsive on the morning of June 8. The boy died later that morning.

According to police, Robert Zeth and Elizabeth McIntyre, along with their two children, a 1-month-old and a 3-year-old, were living in a camper with no functioning shower.
