Christina Kathryn Dorman, better known as "Teen," died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, at the age of 96 in Moline, Ill.
Teen was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. She was a lifelong devotee to St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Martinsburg. Teen grew up in Martinsburg, graduated from Martinsburg High School in 1941, and moved to Buffalo, N.Y., during World War II to work at Curtis Wright.
After the war she returned to Martinsburg, where she met and married Howard "Buck" Dorman on Dec. 25, 1948.
Teen and Buck returned to the Buffalo area for work. Teen worked in and managed the house. Buck worked at the Ford Motor Co. In 1957, Teen gave birth to her only son, Rodney Howard Dorman.
Teen moved to Bettendorf, Iowa, in 2013 to be with Rod and his family. Teen passed away peacefully in her home after suffering a stroke three days prior.
Teen is survived by her son, Rod; his wife, Stephanie; and her grandchildren: Jack, Cole, Andrew, Kathryn and Jennifer.
Teen was preceded in death by Buck, who died in 2006; her mom and dad, George Stock and Maggie Murray; and her brothers and sisters: Thelma Wareham, Maritta Stock, Clara Settle, John Stock, Mary Hall, Margaret Michael, Frederick Stock and George Stock.
Teen was an independent and strong woman. She was a loving mom and grandma. She will forever be remembered and missed. Her ashes will be returned to "home" in Bedford County, Pennsylvania.
