The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced that prime contractor New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co, Inc., of New Enterprise, will begin work on a resurfacing project on Route 1001 (Plank Road) from US 22 to Sheraton Drive in Allegheny and Logan townships, Blair County.
The contractor was scheduled to begin Wednesday, July 24, working under nighttime traffic control between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. to begin work on inlets. Traffic will be restricted to a single lane in each direction.
Beginning on Sunday, July 28, the contractor will begin milling and paving work. Delays are possible during nighttime hours and motorists are advised to use alternate routes. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction. Paving work will take place between US 22 and Sheraton Drive.
Overall work on this project consists of milling and resurfacing, drainage, maintenance of detention basins, signing and traffic signal upgrades as well as new pavement markings.
All work on this $2.8 million project is expected to be completed by mid-December of 2019. All work is weather depending.
