THE CIRCLE SERIES
BY TED DEKKER
"The Circle Series" is a fiction series for young adults. Young adult fiction is written for readers from ages 12 to 18. While the genre is geared to teenagers, approximately half of young adult readers are adults.
"The Circle Series" was formerly known as the "Circle Trilogy" until the novel "Green" was released. This series includes:
• "Black: The Birth of Evil"
• "Red: The Heroic Rescue"
• "White: The Great Pursuit"
• "Green: The Beginning and the End"
"The Circle Series" is an epic story of evil and rescue, betrayal and love. The series also contains a terrorist threat unlike anything that humanity has ever known. The main character is a man named, Thomas Hunter who, after a head injury, wakes up in an alternate reality every time he goes to sleep.
One of our young adult patrons, Matthew Guyer, has written a review for Ted Dekker's Circle series. Matthew and his siblings frequent the Martinsburg Library. They are a family of readers, and we appreciate Matthew taking the time to write this review. Here is Matthew's review in his own words:
"The Circle is a series by Christian author, Ted Dekker. It follows a man named Thomas Hunter. At the beginning of the first book, "Black," somebody attempts to kill him. Then, he dreams and wakes up in another world where the inhabitants claim to be from the future. He learns that in the past the Raison strain will be released soon, and as a result, most of the world will die. Throughout the first three books, "Black," "Red" and "White," he attempts to stop the virus's outbreak. The final book, "Green," ties the series together into a circle.
"The book has a few action sequences that are simple enough to be over before we get bored with them. The plot moves at a perfect pace that keeps you wondering what other plot twist or weird revelation will come next. If that wasn't enough, he also has two other series and a few standalone novels that tie into this world.
"All in all, this series is one that leaves you on the edge of your seat. It has an interesting plot, and interesting characters."
Thanks to Matthew, we are now introduced to a young adult series. Please give this Ted Dekker series a try.
