60 Called to Appear at Trial

More than 60 Cove residents, including Constable Charles Brown of Martinsburg, were subpoenaed as witnesses for the J. Frank Kyler trial. Kyler was arrested after he shot William Butler while visiting in the West Martinsburg home of his girlfriend on March 22.

A dedication ceremony was held for a hall built by the Amicitia Lodge 775, Independence Order of Odd Fellows, in Loysburg. The hall is the first owned by the lodge, even though it had been formed more than 23 years earlier.

Chicken thieves were operating in Martinsburg. The police reported that they had no suspect...
