Health By Choice Names First Intern

Health By Choice Education and Research in New Enterprise recently welcomed its first Intern, Morgan Instone, 20, a senior at Juniata College, Huntingdon.

Instone is a graduate of Bishop McCort Catholic High School in Johnstown.

Instone studies biopsychology at Juniata College and plans to further her education at an accredited naturopathic graduate school with the hopes of becoming a naturopathic physician while also earning a master's degree in nutrition and acupuncture.

She is certified in cupping therapy, providing services throughout her community.

Instone feels that she will be successful in the growing field of naturopathic medicine because she has always felt a deep connection to the earth and an intuitive sensitivity for others.

Through her internship at HBCER, she will gain invaluable experience under the direction of Dr. Ella McElwee and Dr. Erin Gattuso. She will increase her knowledge in homeopathic medicine as well as learn through client consultations and administrative duties.

The goals of this type of internship include gaining an understanding of how naturopathic medicine works as well as how the doctors interact with the patients, becoming comfortable logging and preparing homeopathic remedies, and helping the doctors with charting, taking notes, and providing a plan for the client.
