Penelec To Cut Down Trees

A number of Ore Hill residents were recently surprised to find pink ribbons tied to trees on their property. The ribbons are a notification from Penelec that the “tagged” trees will be cut down in October. Penelec said it is removing the trees because of the potential threat they pose to the high-voltage transmission lines that run through Ore Hill. The ultimatum has left several tree owners frustrated. Roy and Christine Miller have been told that at least eight of their trees will become firewood if not moved.
