The family and friends of Technical Sergeant Norbert E. Rhodes of Royer, near Williamsburg, were much relieved when his mother, Mrs. Elmer E. Rhodes, received a telegram from the war department Monday stating that he was a prisoner of war in a German camp. It will be remembered that The Herald published in its issue of May 18 the fact that Sergeant Rhodes had been reported missing since May 1, and up to this time no further information as to his fate had been received by his parents.
