Cove Boys Return Home

Arch R. Lykens, D. Emmert Brumbaugh and Charles Mentzer, three of the boys who went out from this place to fight in the great world war, returned to their homes and friends here this week.
Arch Lykens was a member of the 80th division, Medical Dept. 317th Field Hospital, Sanitary Train, and saw one year’s service overseas. He received his preliminary training at Camp Lee and set sail the 26th of May 1918, arriving at Brest the 9th of June.
Emmert Brumbaugh was a member of the 33rd, or Prairie division, 58 Heavy Field Artillery. He was in the over sea service 11 months and was on the battle front 9 days.
Charles Mentzer was also a member of the 80th division, 320 Infantry, and landed on his return on Decoration day.
Governor Sproul has strengthened the compulsory vaccination law by approving the Gana bill, which requires the refusal of admission to children in all schools except upon the certificate of successful vaccination performed according to regulations.
