RALPH E. SPECK and DORIS M. SPECK

Ralph E. Speck of Peoria, Arizona, passed away on Feb. 21, 2006 at the age of 76.

Ralph was born in Saxton on Sept. 14, 1929, the son of the late Charles and Hazel (McClain) Speck.

Doris M. (Gates) Speck of Peoria, Arizona, passed away on Aug. 26, 2018, at the age of 89.

Doris was born on Sept. 21, 1928, in Roaring Spring, the daughter of the late Wilfred D. Gates and Margret J. (Smeltzer) Gates.

Ralph and Doris were married for 56 years and had two sons, Richard L. Speck and Mark R. Speck. Richard preceded Doris in death on Oct. 6, 2011, and they are survived by son Mark and wife Cynthia; two grandsons: Michael E. Speck, wife Lindsay and their children Charlotte and Zachary, and Benjamin D. Speck, wife Jayme and their children Miles and Amelia. Ralph is survived by a sister Pearl (Speck) Russell.

Mr. Speck drove truck and worked in the construction industry. He also owned an auto parts business for a short time.

Mrs. Speck, a registered nurse, worked many years at Nason Hospital in Roaring Spring and Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart, Florida.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, at the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., http://www.thompsonfh.com, Roaring Spring.

Interment will be at the families’ discretion at Fairview Cemetery in Martinsburg.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either the American Lung Association or Cancer Centers of America.
