RONALD E. KAUFFMAN

Ronald Eugene Kauffman, 80, of Ashburn, Virginia, died on Friday, April 12, 2019, after an extended illness.

He was born on Oct. 1, 1938, in Henrietta, a son of the late John A. and Flora Ketner Kauffman.

Ron was a 1957 graduate of Morrison Cove High School, Martinsburg, and earned an associate degree from Northern Virginia University.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia (Ziblut); a son, Ronald Patrick “Rick” Kauffman and wife Nicole; a grandson, Eli Joseph Kauffman; and a brother John “Jack” Kauffman of Martinsburg.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Elizabeth Kauffman.

Ron served eight years of active duty with the U.S. Air Force with a tour of duty in Libya. He retired from the CIA with 35 years of service.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Herndon, Virginia; St. Joseph Men’s Club and an Eucharist Minister; a member of the Lions Club (past president); American Legion; Knights of Columbus; Boy Scouts; and a Secular Franciscan.

A funeral mass was held on Thursday, April 25, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with internment at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Herndon.
