NB Defeats Forbes Road, Mc-Burg

The Northern Bedford softball team won two of three games during the past week, improving its record to 7-4 on the season.

B-A 4, NB 1

At Bellwood-Antis on April 22, the Lady Blue Devils broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the third and one in the fourth to sneak by Northern Bedford 4-1.

Northern Bedford’s Sarah Heck walked four and struck out four.

NB 11, Forbes Road 6

An eight-run fourth inning propelled Northern Bedford to an 11-6 victory at Forbes Road on April 23.

The Lady Panthers’ surge turned a 4-2 deficit into a six-run cushion.

Madison Johnson had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs for Northern Bedford. Alaina Stuckey added two hits, while Deerin Davis and Krysta Kennedy each had two RBIs.

Sarah Heck struck out seven and walked five in the victory.

NB 10, Mc-Burg 9

A four-run sixth inning lifted host Northern Bedford to a 10-9 victory against McConnellsburg on April 25.

With the game tied at 4-4, McConnellsburg pulled ahead with a four-run fifth inning. Northern Bedford made it 8-6 in the home half of the fifth, setting up its sixth-inning rally.

Brittany Ebersole and winning pitcher Sarah Heck (triple) each had three hits for Northern Bedford. Alaina Stuckey, Madison Johnson (double) and Hannah Bechtel each added two hits. Allie Snider added a double.

On the mound, Heck walked three and struck out two.
