Herald States Policy For Candidate Election Signs

The Herald would like to remind readers, customers and advertisers that the Herald does not endorse candidates in elections.

Any information published by the Herald about a candidate will be standard information provided by the candidate or publicly available information.

The Herald requests that no candidate signs be placed on Herald property in Martinsburg. The Herald’s owners note that the grassy lot next to the Herald is not entirely owned by the Herald. Approximately one-third of the lot, the northern portion, is owned by another Martinsburg property owner. That property owner might decide to permit the placement of candidate signs on his property. The Herald has no control over this decision.

The Herald’s mission is to provide accurate and unbiased information to the Cove community every week. For that reason, the Herald will not support, endorse or promote any specific candidate.

Candidate advertisements which appear in the Herald were paid for by the candidate or the candidate’s committee.

Questions about Herald policies regarding candidates, signs and elections may be directed to the publisher at (814) 793-2144 or [email protected].

The Herald thanks all readers and advertisers for supporting community journalism.
