AgChoice Farm Credit distributed a record $32.6 million in cash patronage to eligible customer-owners this month, according to the company.
Local customer-owners of its Martinsburg branch received $3.5 million of that total.
Patronage has been an integral part of the cooperative’s business model for 20 years. The model allows AgChoice to build capital, share profits and lower the overall cost of borrowing to customer-owners. Cash payouts to customer-owners since 1999, including this year, total $312.6 million.
