The Northern Bedford High School baseball team opened its 2019 season on March 28 with a 10-1 setback to visiting Forbes Road.
Forbes Road scored twice in the first, second and fourth innings and tacked on three runs in the fifth to grab a 9-0 lead.
Northern Bedford’s Evan Clouse drove in Josh Strayer in the bottom of the fifth. Forbes Road added a run in the sixth.
In addition to Clouse’s hit, Northern Bedford had single hits from Logan College, Case Donaldson and Kyler States.
College and Luke Wiedemann each pitched for the Panthers. Wiedemann struck out two in the setback.

Host Northern Bedford rallied from three runs down to defeat Fannett-Metal 11-3 on March 29 for its first win of the season.
Fannett-Metal led 3-0 before the Panthers (1-1) scored 11 runs in their final four at-bats. They scored once in the third and fourth innings, five in the fifth and four in the sixth.
Logan College had two hits and two RBIs for Northern Bedford. Evan Clouse, Thad Leidy and Thad Kraucz each scored twice. Kraucz tripled at the plate, while Clouse and Colby Imler each had a double.
Andrew Lazor tossed a complete game for NB, yielding seven hits while walking two and striking out two.
