Canning Project Says ‘Thank You’ for Support

To the Editor:

Thanks to God’s guidance, this is the 45th year for our canning project. Though God’s grace and the love shown by so many people in central Pennsylvania, we still help to feed those who are hungry.

We canned 34,000 pounds of turkey, which produced 21,340 cans of product. Since our beginning in 1974, the canning project has been able to can a total of 709,564 cans of meat with your help. May God bless and keep all who have supported, and received.

We were again able to pay for the turkey, $41,820, on time, but we still need your help to pay the cost, $1.05/can, of the cans/lids and shipping. We would like to remind you that the monies given are tax deductible. Any monetary gifts can be sent to: Central PA World Hunger Assoc., PO Box 76, Belleville, PA. 17004

A special thanks to the East Derry Fire Company for the use of their building, and all the neighboring households who have graciously put up with us during these four days. Thank you.

To our area businesses: Big Valley Feed & Grain Co., Penn Equipment Co., East Gate Feed and Grain, Coffee Run Trucking and our area newspapers and radio stations, we say thank you for your services.

I would like to thank the churches, the groups, the businesses, the farmers, the families and the individuals who supported us with financial gifts. We could not do God’s work here in central Pennsylvania, without your help.

A special thanks to Teresa and Lee Cunningham, and their group of supporters for another great year of feeding the volunteers.

We would like to thank the many volunteers, and a special thankyou to those who came out to support us on those bad weather days. May God bless you for your commitment.

To Henry Stoltzfus, the directors and the committee members who were able to help with the canning, I would like to say,” Thank you.” With God’s blessings, we have again completed this ministry, well done. We give a special thanks to the Canner Boys who give two years of voluntary service to the canning project.

May this meat, be a blessing to those who hunger. God is great, God is good, and we thank him for this food. May the Lord bless and keep you.

Together we can.
