JOEL MICHAEL SHULTZ

Joel Michael Shultz, 74, of Williamsburg, passed away on Tuesday morning, March 12, 2019, at his home, following a lengthy illness.

At the request of the deceased there will be no public service. Private interment will be held at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

Joel was born on Dec. 1, 1944, in Altoona, son of the late James W. and Helen E. (Gibboney) Shultz.

Surviving are two nieces: Susan Burket of Hollidaysburg and Sharon Lonsdale of Lake Tapps, Washington; a nephew, James Shultz of Loveland, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Beverly Shultz of Duncansville; and longtime companion of 27 years, Carol D. Leamer of Williamsburg.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James M. Shultz.

Mike was a 1962 graduate of Williamsburg High School and also a graduate of Williamson Trade School, Williamsport.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as an aero medical evacuation technician, receiving the Air Medal for Meritorious Achievement while participating in aerial flights while in Vietnam.

Mike retired as a quality control inspector from F.L. Smithe Machine Co., Duncansville, after 32 years of service.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and searching for antiques.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mike can be given to Home Nursing Agency Hospice, 20 Sheraton Drive, Altoona, PA 16601.
