A little more than a week ago, the big news for Cove-area sportsmen was that a scheduled cull of deer was staved off with the help of newly elected State Rep. Jim Gregory. Area sportsmen had applied significant pressure to stop this slaughter of deer by sharpshooters hired by the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) in the guise of trying to stop the spread of chronic wasting disease (CWD).
