The new year has the Martinsburg Borough Council thinking of adopting a fireworks ordinance.
Council initially discussed an ordinance regarding fireworks following the Fourth of July holiday last year, when borough residents were setting off fireworks days following July 4.
The issue was brought forth again during the council’s first meeting of 2019 on Monday night, Jan. 7, primarily because of fireworks in the borough in the early-morning hours of New Year’s Day.
