ROBERT K. SELL

Robert K. Sell, 77, of Martinsburg, formerly of Woodbury, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018, at his home.

A funeral was held on Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Woodbury Church of the Brethren. Pastors David Ulm, Larry Graybill and Allen Baker officiated.

Interment was at Replogle Cemetery, Woodbury.

Robert was born on Aug. 21, 1941, in Woodbury, son of the late Lester and Sara (Pepple) Sell.

He was united in marriage with Janet E. Over on Dec. 26, 1964, at the Woodbury Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are his wife, Janet E .; son Allen M. Sell and wife Veronica (Glodek) of Claysburg; daughter Mary Ellen Laird and husband Colin of Loysburg; grandchildren Paige Morral of Los Angeles and Brody Morral, Mara Laird, and Connor Laird, all of Loysburg; sister Evelyn Ritchey and brothers Edwin and H. Richard Sell, all of Woodbury; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was a 1959 graduate of the Northern Bedford High School and a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University.

He was a Northern Bedford School District teacher for 42 years, teaching agriculture, math and science. Robert retired as the high school principal.

He was a member of the Woodbury Church of the Brethren and was affiliated with both Snake Spring Valley Church of the Brethren and Altoona 28th Street Church of the Brethren.

Robert was a very active Christian. He served on the church board and as a church moderator, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.

Robert previously served on the Middle PA District Church of the Brethren District Board as a district conference moderator. He also served on the Camp Blue Diamond Board, was a member of the Bedford County PASR and a member of the “RATS” (Retired Ag Teachers).

Robert loved “flying” and was a charter member of the EAA Chapter 400.
