The Claysburg-Kimmel High School girls'basketball team won two of three games during the week to improve to 3-1 on the season.
C-K 55, WHS 49
At home Dec. 18, the Lady Bulldogs closed the game with a 15-11 run and held off Williamsburg 55-49.
C-K led 26-22 at halftime, but WHS closed the game to 40-38 through three quarters.
Emily Claar and Megan Hartman scored 15 and 11 points for C-K.
Alexi McMonagle drained four 3-pointers and poured in a game-high 20 points for Williamsburg.
JV 52, C-K 48
The Lady Bulldogs' first loss of the season came at the hands of Juniata Valley on Dec. 19, 52-48.
C-K was behind 40-32 entering the final quarter, where it closed the game on a 16-12 run only to fall short at the end.
Bailey Garver paced C-K with 14 points. Emily Claar added 12 points, including two 3-pointers.
C-K 69, West Branch 47
Visiting C-K rebounded from its first loss of the season with a 69-47 win over West Branch on Dec. 21.
The Lady Bulldogs led 13-6 after the first quarter and 33-23 at halftime. C-K put the game on ice with a 28-16 showing in the final eight minutes.
Emily Claar and Rebekah Claar each scored 16 points for C-K. Bailey Garver added 13 points, while Kalei Carson contributed 11 points.
