Arthur Gardner, 77, a resident of Homewood in Martinsburg, Pennsylvania, succumbed to cancer at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, Dec. 10.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Whitehall Church of Christ, 215 Streets Run Road, Pittsburgh. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Art’s life.
Art was born in Pittsburgh, son of the late Arthur and Mary (Wolf) Gardner.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 55 years, Lynn; son Jeff (wife, Julie) of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter Laurie Drysdale (husband, Jim) of Martinsburg; sister Lois Rigdon (husband, Ronnie) of Indianapolis, Indiana; and adored grandchildren Joshua and Hayden.
Art retired from a 30-plus-year career at Fisher Body and then enjoyed 25 years being self-employed doing home repairs and maintenance. He treasured the time he spent every summer for more than 30 years at Raccoon State Park serving at Camp Concern. He most enjoyed just spending time with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be greatly missed.
