Thor William Wentz

Thor William Wentz, 63, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, at Virginia Beach General Hospital while surfing near his home. He passed doing what he loved most, and for that, his family is profoundly grateful.

Thor was born Sept. 1, 1961, at the Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan, the eldest son of James E. and Charmaine M. Wentz.

His father's Navy career took the family to various places across the United States, including Virginia Beach, Va.; Madison, Wis.; Fairfax, Va.; and eventually back to Virginia Beach, where Thor would spend much of his life.
