  • Williamsburg Authority Awards Contract For HVAC Installation at Plant

    MARC-Service, Inc., of Windber was awarded the final bid (Bid No. 3) during last Tuesday evening’s Williamsburg Municipal Authority meeting. The HVAC company would be installing heating, ventilation and air conditioning in the new water treatment facility. The bid was, according to Authority Boardmember Jon Clabaugh of Stiffler McGraw, “under budget,” at $28,500.     Pennsylvania Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding on Aug. 9 unveiled a new service enabling older and at-risk Pennsylvanians to more easily access affordable, healthy local food. The FMNP app – an online application for the Women Infants and Children (WIC) and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Programs – will help eligible Pennsylvanians find fresh, locally grown produce at participating farmers markets across the commonwealth.   • Paper Mill Reports Dust Fire Monday

    The paper mill in Roaring Spring reported smoke in the chip screen building around 1:15 on Monday, Aug. 19. The report was of smoke, not a full-blown fire. Area volunteer fire departments, including Roaring Spring and Martinsburg, are responding at this time.... Full story
